I was invited to a golf tournament and could take another employee with me. Technically Chris is not an employee of Spillman Technologies but for this golf tournament he became the Company’s Information Technology LAN/WAN Security Administrator ( I gave him the title myself – if you are the HR Director you can make up job titles like this). So, we show up and get our golf cart assignments and I find out they paired us up with two sales guys that want to sell printers and copiers to Spillman Technologies. For 18 holes we have to act like we are very interested in everything they are selling. It got to the point where I said if we win first place then I would sign the sales contract after the tournament. That shut them up for a while but then their boss came over to our table during lunch and made another sales pitch to why Spillman should buy from them. Sheesh, leave us alone we just came for the free golf. So, here’s the best part ……… we came in 2nd place and received $50.00 to spend in the pro shop, Chris won $100.00 for closest to the hole, and I won a $50.00 gift card to TGIF Friday’s – ka-ching! A fantastic day especially if you consider we played free golf, received free golf balls, towels, tees, and swag, plus ate and drank food all day long because they kept driving this treat/beverage cart over to us, and then we had a great lunch ……….. priceless!
Anyway, happy birthday to you Mr. Chris. We sure are glad you are part of our family and part of our neighborhood.
